i can't believe the new year is just a few days away! the mister and i will most likely be staying in with our beauties but although we won't be partying it up, mama over here plans on rocking something shiny that night.

i hope your christmas was fantastic!

mine was hectic, but wonderful nonetheless.

my beauties were blessed with tons of goodies {many of which are still stashed in the trunk} and mama was blessed with tons of yummy food.

pretty pretty packages.

my plan was to finish wrapping all my christmas gifts early this year. but since you can't wrap gifts you don't have, some of the wrapping will only be done today. my favorite way to wrap gifts is with good ol' kraft paper aka postal wrapping paper {i buy mine here}. i just love the simplicity of a blank canvas accented with colorful and/or whimsical trim.

just in case there are some of you out there who still have gifts to buy wrap, here are some pretty lil' packages to inspire you...

the midas touch.

someone needs to intervene...
for the past two days i have been running around my apartment with a can of  metallic gold spray paint spraying everything in sight. pretty soon every "paintable" thing in my house is going to be gold.
it's my color right now.
gold wrapping paper, gold glitter, gold ornaments, gold lamps, gold watch, gold...gold...gold.
do you ever become obsessed with a color and then want to buy or make everything in your world that color? anyone? or am i the only weirdo who does that?

 of all the things i have been transforming to gold, i am most pleased with the piggy bank in samirah and nylah's room.
it just seems so fitting for a piggy bank to be gold and my beauties totally agree!

 i have been working on a handful of projects for the past few months and at times feel 

overwhelmed. but then...

 i look through the captured moments on my phone

and i take a deep breath...

and i thank God for blessing my life with so many beautiful
