zid zid.

one of the most important things i would like to impart onto my children is a love of culture.
growing up half middle eastern and half brazilian in the good ol' USA was such a privilege because i was able to experience and see the world through a multifaceted prism....
one of my fondest memories as a child was the typical sunday morning in our home:
waking up to the smell of an all american breakfast of blueberry pancakes and eggs
and the sound of LOUD (yes we brazilians like everything loud) samba music playing in the background. i can still picture my daddy kicked back in his chair with theLA times in one hand and the remote in another, reading and flipping through the arab news channels all while yelling at my mom in portuguese that he couldn't hear anything because her music was waaay too loud.
talk about a multicultural attack to the senses from the minute you wake up!

when it comes to my beauties, one of my chosen methods of attack (other than speaking to them in Portuguese and Spanish) is surrounding them with items from all over the world. Maracas from Spain, hand knit animals from kenya, books written in spanish and portuguese, shoes from mexico, traditional nicaraguan dresses, and so on, and so forth.
it is my hope that the plethora of cultural items will
ONE: expand their little minds
and
TWO: enhance their way of life.
{it surely was the case for me}

with that said, i want to introduce you to one of my favorite international children's brands...
zid zid was created by a husband and wife who moved to morocco with their two children from the US to begin a children's lifestyle line. they design some of the coolest kids stuff around-from backpacks to shoes to furniture to toys to bookends to so much more.
AND the BEST part-it's all handmade in morocco.

it's so hard choosing my favorite items because i love it ALL, but there are waaaay too many words in this post so let me jazz it up with some pictures. enjoy!

there's so much more to see so take a look at their website HERE.
