i have been inspired to start a new segment (is that what you call it?) that will highlight real children with real style.

think The Satorialist miniaturized.

since little miss evie is my source of inspiration i found it appropriate to make her the very first cupcakes and couture child with style...

as you can see, evie has a favorite dress.

and who says her golden bell shaped brocade dress is limited to christmas or easter?

NOT I.

nor her mommy Ellen.

ellen, who is the founder and head designer of Right Bank Babies, has a motto:

"every day with your child is a special occasion so don't save the fancy stuff. let them wear it anytime and anywhere."

so evie, the little apple who didn't fall far from the tree, adheres to her mommy's motto and layers her fancy dress over cargo pants and cut off zebra sweats creating fabulous little looks that are all her own.

wouldn't you agree that allowing your child to dress him or herself can be a great way to jump start their imagination and sense of style? for now i still call the shots in the closet but i definitely look forward to seeing what my beauties come up with when they begin to do it themselves.
