bye-bye toddlerhood. hello pre-k.

i have come to terms with the harsh reality that my babies WILL one day grow up and i refuse to dwell on the negative feelings which accompany this realization.
with that said,  my big beauty is going to pre-school this year.
i have mixed feelings about it.
one part of me is excited to begin this new chapter with her and the other part is sad to see her "toddlerhood" coming to an end.
gone are the days of cuddling in bed with her until 10am.
gone are the carefree, unscheduled afternoons filled with play dates and going to bed whenever we feel like it.
gone are the days where i don't correct the adorably mispronounced words and sentences like, "why she do dat?"  or "my tister is boddering me so many times mommy".
. gone are the....OK, i coulda sworn i said i wasn't going to dwell on this!!!!

so let me get to the point of this post and tell you what i DO find exciting about my baby starting school...
school supplies!!!!
i'm obsessed. i have been obsessed my whole life. one of my favorite times of year growing up was back to school time.  i relished in the thoughts of buying fresh new supplies. i was so obsessed with my school supplies that i would randomly organize and re-organize my backpack at least 10 times in the days before school stared.
the funny thing is although my school days are long gone, the giddy feelings i would get during back to school time haven't gone anywhere. many-a-times i have found myself aimlessly perusing the back to school aisles of target for hours on end and for no good reason. this year i actually have a reason-so of course you can imagine my excitement when my big beauty and i hit up our local target and started loading up on all the goodies she would be needing for pre-school.
here's a little look at what we put together...
her skiphop owl backpack {which she previously owned} will contain:
a notebook with traceable letters and numbers
a glue stick
a picture of our little family
colored pencils
washable markers
watercolors
2 boxes of crayons
antibacterial wipes
number 2 pencils
child safe scissors
and of course a few snacks :)

what are some of things in your pre-schooler's backpack this year?
::UPDATE::
i have a new project in the works and had to enroll not only my big beauty in pre-school but my baby beauty as well. i'm happy to report that they both love their teachers and are adjusting well to the new schedule...as is mama. a new chapter has begun and we are having lots of fun writing it!
here's a little glimpse of our back-to-school shopping spree at target...
