five itty bitty baby things.

i was chitchatting on the phone the other day with my sis-in-law kim and we got to talking about baby things. our convo went a little something like this...

kim: "have you gotten any goodies for the lil' peanut yet?"
me: "no, i don't need anything really".
kim: //laughs// "seriously? you have everything you need for a newborn baby?"
me: //mind begins to race// "uhhhhhhhh..."
kim: //in sarcastic tone// "you do know it's been fouuuuur years since you've had a newborn right?"
me: "uhhhhhhh..."
::end conversation::

i guess in the back of my mind the thought of having one more child {whether boy or girl} means you don't really need anything;  after all, it's baby number THREE for goodness sake. the reality however, is i don't have anything i need for a newborn...not a sock, not a diaper bag, not a onsie, not a nuthin'{seriously? i'm just noticing this now?}. upon ending the convo with my sis-in-law, i dug my brain out of the pregnant lady hole it was hiding in and came to the realization that the current baby boom in my family {6 total with 2 more coming-apparently, none of us watch television!} has resulted in baby items of all sorts being handed down and down aaaand down...hence depleting the stash of baby items i...thought? i? had? i dunno. either way, i'm out of lala land{thanks kimmykim!} and am now thinking about all the itty bitty baby items i need & want for our newest addition. here are five of those things {in no particular order of importance}...
it really is one of the cutest and most functional baby products on the market. part toy/part teether- both of my beauties LOVED their sophies and i'm sure the little peanut will love it just as much.
cutest. mocs. ever. the. end.
i love the spanish children's line bobo choses...they combined three of my obsessions here: tiny socks, bright colors & stripes.
hands down my FAVORITE onsies ever. these guys last forever...they don't stretch out/lose shape after one wear and they come in both short and long sleeve versions.
great design & function all rolled into one? yes, please. i carried this one and this one last time around and  i have NO complaints. i love every design and color but the society satchel..."takes the cake"! {pun intended}

p.s. i'm thinking this will be a weekly post until the baby comes...i'd love to hear about any baby items you love or recommend. so much has changed in the baby market these last 4 1/2 years so your comments/thoughts are greatly appreciated!
xx
