my beauties are total snack monsters - they can mow through a bag of goldfish in two minutes flat. since snacks are such a big deal around here, i decided to mix things up a bit {literally} and create a kiddie munch based on a recipe i got from samirah's kindergarten teacher. they love this stuff SO much i just had to share...
1) kix 2) teddy grahams 3) marshmallows 4) goldfish pretzels 5) goldfish 6) popcorn
:: two cups each ::
7) chocolate chips 8) cranberries 9) m&m's 10) yogurt raisins
:: one cup each ::
using a wooden spoon, gently pour and mix each individual ingredient into the jar.
once you have poured in all the ingredients, cover jar and gently shake to evenly disperse the ingredients {it gets harder to mix with the spoon once the jar is full}.
voila! kiddie munch.
:: a few tips ::
the candy pieces tend to fall to the bottom of the jar so give it a little shake before each serving.
since fresh popped popcorn becomes stale quickly, you can substitute it for pirates booty if you plan on making the kiddie mix ahead of time for a party or class event.
pre-pack little baggies of kiddie munch for the perfect on the go snacks when running out the door.
some other fun ingredients include: cheerios, tiny pretzels, peanut butter filled pretzels, granola, raisins, almonds, peanuts, banana chips and any other bite sized dried fruits.
